I hope some day soon we can rest
Come down to earth and relax our minds
Set our own pace that’s not hard to live by
Drop this rat race and stare toward the skies

I know how you feel when you say life is hard
When you try to budget your time between school and work
Our lives are so short and we work them away
Just so we can eat and have a decent place to stay
Our taxes are heavy and our wages are small
Our rent is expensive though we pay for it all
Even if I graduate with my degree
I’ll still be suppressed by the economy

It all sounds so negative
But that’s how the majority of the people live
I’m gonna try my best to win
Make lots of money and be filthy rich
I just want to help my family and friends
I don’t want them to have to feel the pressure
I want everyone to enjoy their lives
I want them to enjoy every day and night

I wish everyone could rest their minds
Lazy people have the right idea
I wish no one had to work at all
I wish everyone could rest their minds

I know it’s too far-fetched to ever be true
But I’m a dreamer in this world of harsh reality
I wish we could all relax and be good friends
The rat race pulls us down and we cant come up

Maybe if we had to start all over again
We’d have a better chance to make things right
We could start all over from the ground to the air
And build it all over with a wise man’s stare

Mother nature’s callin’
She wants us under her wing
She wants us to regress
To the way we used to live
As of now mankind’s
Draining our mother earth
But we have the potential
To put it back together
